Since September KVIE has been airing a show on Africa. It
continues in October.

Africa Trek tells the story of the Poussin’s and their 3
years’ journey across Africa. The book - published in
France in 2004, selling more than 280,000 copies there -
will be published in the US by Inkwater Press. A series is
aired on PBS in September and October 2008.

After its hit throughout Europe, the French Africa Trek
12-episode television series produced by Gedeon in
association with WETA Washington DC is having a great
coverage on PBS in September and October 2008.

Africa Trek is the incredible journey of husband and wife
Alex and Sonia Poussin. For three years, the French couple
walked 8,700 miles across Africa, from the Cape of Good
Hope to the Sea of Galilee. During their journey, which
they personally filmed, they endured fatigue, extreme
thirst, blazing sun, prowling hyenas, malaria and more. But
what they discovered along the way was an incredibly
generous place rich with heart, humor and life. The
Poussins experienced a piece of the world few of us have
ever seen, where time and culture is so different from our
own.

Shows in October are:

Africa Trek
On the Trail of Lions (episode 5)
In Tanzania, the Poussins encounter tsetse flies on a
brush-infested trail and develop malaria. At a health
center, they learn that a lion attacked a man on the same
trail.
